I HAVE, and idk how I did on them, but having like 7-8 months worth of bonus studying time definitely helped!
turns out I was only gone for a few minutes back home, which is super weird, but the space/time continuum looking the other way definitely worked out in my favour
I don't think I was gone for even a few seconds. Spider-man didn't say anything about me vanishing on him mid-fight, anyway.
[And he definitely would have commented on that! Or at least gone to try and shut down the reactor himself, which...well, that's the outcome Otto wanted the least. Things really did work out all right.]
Well, I was in the middle of trying to throttle him at the time.
[Feels like he would've noticed? Otto's mostly trying to make a joke out of it because it was deeply upsetting to return to!]
I don't know what he made of it. We didn't exactly get a chance to chat. But I got to clean up my own mess, for once, so I'd say it worked out. This wasn't my intention, but I think I fairly convincingly faked my own death too. Might make things a little neater for everyone there.
[you saw him hit the kid with a train, how is this worse]
Don't worry about it. It's exactly how I expected things to go. For months, I wasn't planning on going back at all after I'd taken care of things.
Though, having seen how it is here, I do worry about him.
[It had never seemed unusual that Spider-Man was the only superhero they had, before. That's just how the world was. But having seen and heard about how it can be to have teams of them - having heard how horrified some people are to know that he's alone back there - it does cast things in a different light.]
[ not the throttling, the fact that faking his own death was the best outcome here! That's pretty grim! And did he just imply he wasn't planning on coming back? Because holy shit! ]
Well
Look at it this way: I know he's going solo back home, but supervillains aren't very common over there either, right? Plus, he already has a pretty good track record. And maybe there are more hero-types out there who just haven't popped up yet.
[Oh! No! He was totally coming back HERE! Just not to his original universe ever again!]
That's true. But looking back on it, I think he was still struggling.
[But that's entirely due to his knowledge of Peter Parker, not Spider-man. While he trusts Doreen, that's slightly dangerous conversational territory.]
The future version of him I met seemed fine, though. I guess he must've worked it all out eventually.
Well, maybe I'll check in on him some other time. It'll be easier now - Balthier got one of those illusion devices working! I've been using it to go out, it works remarkably well!
[literally the worst possible ghost you could get]
Not yet! My understanding is that they process them as a very large backpack, or maybe a mobility aid - nothing they would think about too closely either way. It just makes you unremarkable.
Possibly one of those large hiking ones. They don't retract that much.
One of many design decisions I would have made differently, if I'd known I'd end up using them like this. Forget daily use, they were never really even supposed to be taken outside of a controlled facility.
text!
also! did not fail my midterms because they hadn't happened yet, which is a bonus!

Good news about the midterms.
Have you taken them now?

Maybe Spidey blinked at just the right moment!

[ hey otto, buddy, that's kinda messed up! what do you even say to that! ]
man, I'm sorry it came to that, but I'm glad you got to tie up loose ends on your own terms.

Of course he did, he always does! He's SPIDER-MAN, yo!! He's one of the best!
[ He's mentioned that his Spidey was roughly college-age, so yeah, he probably was struggling, but he must've gotten through it! ]

Oh, dang!! Really? That's great! How does it handle the actuators? Nobody's bumped into / tripped over the squad yet?

ngl, after the masks at loki's party the idea of being unnoticeable is VERY appealing

[Granted there's a lot of things about his life pre-actuators that he misses a lot MORE, but that's been something that comes up an awful lot!]

[ And it'd make it a lot easier to fight crime without worrying about getting arrested for being Unaligned, but she's not gonna mention that part! ]

I could keep the actuators under a big coat all the time, but that's no way to live your life.
[And yeah, of course there's that too. But we don't gotta talk about it!]

How far do they retract? I know they've got some telescoping going on, but could you conceivably hide them under a backpack or something?
